What do I need to get started stamping?

What do I need to get started!

As far as getting started... are you a totally new stamper or have you done it before?  Do you have any items at all?

Stamp Sets

If your wanting to make Holiday cards or cards in general... you'll for sure want to pick out a couple stamp sets.  If you choose wood mount then they will have the wood with them in which you can mount them.  This gives you the ability to stamp them.  Otherwise, if you choice clear mount you'll want to purchase the coordinating blocks.  Once you own all 9 blocks you'll never have to purchase them again.  You just re-use them!  Blocks are on page #183

Inks
You definitely will need some stamp pads.  If your able to purchase a whole color family then I would do it that way.  Each individual stamp pad is $6.50 / 10 pads = $65.00.  If you order them as a color family you save $10 and pay only $54.50.  Page 169-171


Do you need all colors?  No!  As you get going and really enjoy it you'll want them all but there is no need right away.  I would focus on the Bold Brights or maybe even Regal color family.  The reason is the Holiday''s are here and then you'll be able to roll those same colors into Valentines day, Easter and Spring... so on.  You can build your color collection as you go!

INK Refills
You will eventually want to purchase the ink refills.  The pads are fantastic and hold lots of ink.  You also use more ink with our new firm foam pads.  So plan on purchasing the refills at some point. Ink Refills can be found on Pages 169-171 of your Annual Catalog.


Paper
You'll for sure want our Whisper White Paper. Its fantastic and highly recommended!!!  I would also suggest that you pick out card stock that matches the stamp pads or color family your choose.  This way all your things coordinate and its easy for your to start to create. Our Cardstock Selection can be found on Pages 169-171 of your Annual Catalog.

We also have a beautiful collection of DESIGNER SERIES PAPER that you can find on Pages 172-174 of your Annual Catalog.

StazOn Black
I would recommend you purchase our StazOn black ink and refill.  Its fabulous!!! It is a perminat ink; therefore, you can watercolor around it and color with markers and it shouldn't smear or smudge.  You can find it on page 180.

Adhesive

You'll want adhesive for sure.  I like the Tombow which is a liquid glue.  Once you get the hang of it you'll love it!  I also recommend pop dots or Stampin Dimensionals. You can find these products on page 182.

 

Punches

All the punches are awesome!!!  Best thing to do is look for stamps set that coordinate with them.  You can tell by the red or blue line around an image in a stamp set.  You'll also see some items are bundled.  I recommend the bundles as that will save you money! Page 186-188

Die Cutting

You don't need these things now; however, down the road if you really enjoy your card making and crafting you'll love our Big Shot and accessories. They are fantastic!!! My favorite is the Embossing Folders.  Your paper goes in smooth and comes our beautifully textured.  I use my over and over and over and just love them!!! Page 190-195

Embellishments
Aren't necessary just super fun to have!  You can decide if you want to embellish with buttons, brads and or ribbons. Page 177-179
